Short Notice Cancellation / No Show

If the client is late/no-shows/cancels:

  • Notify us and include the:

    • Date and time of the session

    • The Date and time of the cancellation

    • Reason given for cancellation

  • Tell us even if you don’t plan on enforcing the fee. You can let us know by text or by email in the patients “official thread” and we will record it in their file. This is important to document a pattern of bad behavior in case we need to cut them off.

  • Remind the client of the agreement they signed even if you don’t plan on enforcing the fee. If you want us to send the patient a copy of the agreement they signed, we can do that.

  • If you plan to see the patient again, you are the one that collects the fee and keep it for your troubles. Since it goes to you, you are welcome to reduce it if you want to give them a break.

  • If you’re not going to see the patient again let us know and we can make sure they pay you before they see another therapist.

  • You can only enforce a fee for the previous appointment. You can’t tell them they were late 3 sessions ago and there is a fee.

Inappropriate behavior

Please let me know what happened, even if you do not require a consequence. What may not bother you may bother other therapists and we put this in their file for full disclosure. Every instance needs to be documented. Inappropriate behavior includes

  • being under the influence

  • anything sexual

  • mean comments regarding race, sex, gender, etc.

  • If it makes you uncomfortable, lets talk about it.
